"Play Clean, Play Hard, Play to WIN"
Is The Ops Moto! and they are Team Competes’ Season 1 Team Champions for COD 4


With a history that dates back to July of 2004; OPs are one of X-Box lives longest running clans. OPs have many titles to their name; they have won 2 Siege, 3 LMS, 2 BLS, and 1 Sharpshooter Championship Titles on various on-line competition ladders. In addition to these feats, they have 5 tournament wins underneath their belts. One of which includes one of the first money tournaments held for their game type, the shooter category.

Now, they can add another title to their pedigree. This is our Season 1 Team Champions for Call of Duty 4. On Sunday June 8th I had the opportunity and pleasure to interview a representative for their clan, COLBY9er, and here is what he had to say….

TC: Your Clan history goes back a long time here on Team Compete, but for those in our community that don’t know you guys can give me two words that can best sum up your clan?
COLBY9er: Competitive friends. We are friends with one another making fun of each other, but in the end we take our game serious and we go for the win.

TC: Who would you all say is your most valuable player for season one and why?
COLBY9er: OPs WARPIG is, and it is because he held down all the weak points or vulnerabilities of our clan.

TC: How often do you guys practice together and what kind of drills do you guys run?
COLBY9er: It’s rare if we have a set practice, but we do play more on line in open rooms together.

TC: I guess you could say its more of a mess of people that play together all the time?
COLBY9er: Exactly.

TC: Is there any advice that you can give to someone picking up Call of Duty 4 for the first time?
COLBY9er: Give it more than a first glance, keep going at it with good players because that’s the only way you’re going to get better.

TC: Do you have any advice for any clans that are new and want to get into competitive gaming ladders?
COLBY9er: Make sure you mesh with the people you start it up with. Just because someone is good doesn’t mean you all will work well with one another. It’s more important that you have good team chemistry than it is for you all to rely on an “all-star”player.

TC: During season one are there any games or moments in a game that sticks out in your mind (like a come from behind win or one player that was a one man army)?
COLBY9er: I have one that stick out…is with Cerberus in vacant on the last match in the finals against WMD. He had an all around good match, but in the end he diffused the bomb with two WMD opponents shooting at him. The funny part is he de-fused it while in the crouched position instead of the prone position.

TC: Who would you say is your toughest competitor (clan) here at Team Compete and why?
COLBY9er: WMD. They have a similar type of playing style as compared to our squad.

TC: I see on your web site (http://team-ops.com) you have an area for anyone to apply to join your clan…what qualities are you looking for in any potential recruits? Do you actively recruit people or do you wait on them to apply and then you make a decision on them?
COLBY9er: Good guns and they have to have good chemistry in the team. Yes we do recruit people, but it has been a while…we are always looking for new talent.

TC: Since, you won Season 1 in COD 4 and there was a lot of smack being talked into the forums on all sides. Without calling names what do you have to say to the naysayers?
COLBY9er: We always proved ourselves with guns…hence we went undefeated in the search and destroy ladder in COD 4.

Well guys with no competition on TC OPs took the crown in season 1 and squashed WMD which is a full booms team but decided to go no booms against us thinking that we were not a run n gun team. WMD was squashed and didnt even manage to put up a point in the finals and OPs swept them 4-0. Congrats OPs!

We have installed some new features to our site .The first one installed is a Recruitment forum .We will be using it to accept applications to join OPs. There will be a link up soon for it .

We have also installed a challenge application to our site .You can access it by clicking on the Call Of Duty 4 and Rainbow Six Vegas Banner on the right side of the main page .We will also accept challenges when one is sent through it.

Call Of Duty 4 Patch Details12/17/2007

Infinity Ward community relations director Robert "402" Bowling posted the details on the upcoming patch for Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. This list is quite extensive and includes the patch details as well as some other changes that he says there is no current ETA for. Any of the changes having to do with playlists will not be happening with the patch but "at some point in the near future ." He also notes that "The Playlist changes apply both to the 360 and PS3 versions, but the PS3 will have different patch changes."
